Moog’s Linear Actuator System (LAS), manufactured in New York, is a major sub-system at the heart of NASA's Docking System (NDS). As an essential part of the Soft Capture System (SCS), the LAS enables the SCS to perform its job, making those seemingly impossible dockings possible.
The system uses six precision-engineered actuators, working together like a high-tech handshake.
